In the last couple of days, Virtual Creations hosting customers will have noticed a marked reduction in the amount of spam they are receiving.

The anti-spam measures used on our servers have been improved, resulting in a drop in spam of around 80-90%.  Of course it is not possible to eliminate spam altogether, but this should hopefully keep spam levels manageable.

There should now no longer be any need to use the SpamBox facility of your hosting account.  It will reduce spam even further, but comes with its own set of issues (such as either the regular maintenance requirements or the occasional deletion of false positives), so it's probably not worth enabling it now that the spam has been so reduced.
